Harmonies in the Hangar

Saturday, June 19, 2027 event starts at 12:00 with displays and activities. Concert starts at 2:00 pm (Severe Rain date on Sunday, June 20, 2027 same times). Please allow enough time for parking and shuttle.

The Civic Symphony of Green Bay returns for the fifth year with a free concert for the Green Bay Community on Saturday, June 19, 2027.  “Harmonies in the Hangar” Concert will be hosted by PilotSmith Flight School and Jet Air Group at the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB).

The unique blend of symphonic music and aviation has drawn more than 1,200 attendees each year, growing from a creative experiment into a valued part of Green Bay’s summer calendar.

ACTIVITIES:

• Pilotsmith Flight School – learn more about being a pilot, and even take a ride in the full-motion flight simulator

• Heid Music musical instrument “petting zoo” – try out various woodwind, brass, percussion, and string instruments

• Raffle – register to win prizes in our raffle drawing, all proceeds to benefit the orchestra & chorale

• Face painting – provided by a talented artist from Face Painting by Lori & Friends

• Static displays – view aircraft including a Cirrus Vision Jet and ask the pilots questions

• Kids craft project – make your own souvenir popsicle stick kazoo with help from volunteers from the Girl Scouts

• Food – burgers, brats, and soda for purchase, provided by the Beja Shriners

• Concert – patriotic and summer-themed program presented by the Civic Symphony of Green Bay and the Dudley Birder Chorale

ADMISSION/SEATING:

Admission is free. Donations appreciated. Doors open at noon. Concert at 2:00. Bring a lawn chair. Limited seating can be reserved online for a $5 donation to the orchestra. No food/beverage carry-ins allowed. Sorry, no pets allowed due to airport safety regulations. The event will take place rain or shine (except if very severe weather). PARKING/SHUTTLE:

Parking will be offsite at the Oneida Bingo & Casino Shuttles lot located at 2100-2170 Airport Drive. Shuttle buses will bring concertgoers to/from Pilotsmith. Limited handicap parking (with hangtag, placard, or plate) will be available at the Jet Air Group hangar at 1921 Airport Drive. Parking is not allowed along the road or in other area business lots. Watch for signs. The airport’s parking lots will be open, but normal rates apply, and it is a long 3/4 mile walk to the venue. Concertgoers are encouraged to use the free offsite parking and shuttle service. The shuttle buses will bring attendees back to the offsite parking location when the concert ends at approximately 4:00 pm.

FLY-INS WELCOME:

Aircraft should park at the Jet Air Group FBO and proceed through the ramp-side security checkpoint. Check the NOTAMs for runway or ramp construction/closures or other notices. 20 cent per gallon fuel discount for all aircraft that fly-in.
