Music & art unite! As part of our Brushstrokes & Bowstrokes concert, the Civic Symphony of Green Bay is hosting a fundraiser called “Canvas to Crescendo.” This is a community project where artists created an original work and donated it to the orchestra to be auctioned off in an online art auction. Through the help of area businesses, the event was open to all to participate, including professional and amateur artists. The artists created their pieces on 8×8 inch square canvases in a variety of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, embroidery, woodburning, ceramics, and many more.
There are more than 60 items available in the auction. Items will be sold as is, with all proceeds benefitting the Civic Symphony of Green Bay. Artwork can be viewed online at https://givebutter.com/c/canvas-to-crescendo or in person at the orchestra’s Brushstrokes & Bowstrokes concert on Friday, February 20 (doors open at 5:30 pm, concert begins at 7:00 pm). Bidding opens Friday, February 6 and closes after intermission at the concert (approx. 8:15 pm). See the auction website for more information, including terms and conditions.
Tickets for the Brushstrokes & Bowstrokes concert are available with options for adults, seniors, and students. Discounted group rates are also available. There will be a celebratory reception with the musicians and artists in the Grand Foyer of The Weidner following the performance.
